Dispur: The Amazing City of Assam

Indian glorious cities and their attractive spots are different than world. Today my target is Dispur which is the impressive city closer to Guwahati. Dispur is a small city but the surrounding the other locations near this place are totally unbelievable. Telling the truth I did not find much about this place on social sites, but as per the collection Dispur is turning as a developed city of the state and tourism is increasing as well. 




In 1973, Dispur was the capital city of Assam, though it was merged into Meghalaya earlier. Dispur is having important value in state assembly, but our motto is to introduce the best attraction spots of city to the world readers.

Tourist places in Dispur:
There are countless places registered as a tourist attraction in Dispur City. I will try to get maximum locations so that travelers can enjoy the city properly. 

Basistha Ashram: A place located close to three big rivers such as Sandhya, Lalita and Kanta is the first spot to visit. Get the route in south direction of Dispur and reach this pilgrimage destination. 



Pandu: Next destination of Dispur is Pandu that is positioned close to Brahmaputra River. Pandu is basically an entry point in Guwahati city. A bridge known as Saraighat was constructed between Guwahati and Pandu in 1960. 

Sualkuchi: One more location close to Dispur that is becoming famous spot for voyagers. Sulakuchi is popular for silk production in Assam state. The silk produced in Sualkuchi cannot be compared throughout the world. Distance between Sualkuchi and Guwahati is just 24 km.  



Assam State Museum: Learning history of any state becomes possible by visiting the museum. A similar option is available in Dispur as well because you are getting a chance to attain to Assam State Museum. Dighalipukuri Tank is one major attraction of the museum.

If you are coming from Delhi, then you have to cover the 1847 km, though Jaipur is 1965 km. The closest big station for Dispur is Shillong at 88 km gap. However, Kohima is 301 km away and Imphal is 408 km far from Dispur. 

By Train: Big railway station closer to Dispur is Guwahati connected to almost every metropolis of India. Trains to Guwahati are available from Delhi, Dimapur, Bangalore, Dibrugarh, Bhopal, Tinsukia and many other cities. 

By Air: Guwahati airport is properly linked to many cities, though it is a domestic airport so you will get the flights from Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore, Tezpur, Kolkata, Shillong, Tawang, Itanagar and Agartala for Guwahati. 

By Bus: Assam government is having local transport for Dispur from Guwahati, Shillong, Tawang and some more cities.
