Binsar a town of Himalayas under Jhandi Dhar hills ranges is our target of the day. We all know the hill stations of India are best among world. This is also the one located at 33 km distance from Almora town of Uttarakhand.



There are many spots to visit in Binsar, though Zero Point is special as the travelers are getting clear vision of Himalayan peaks from this spot. You can view the hills such as Kedarnath, Trisul, Shivling and Nanda Devi peaks with naked eyes.



The town is having rich history as it was the summer capital of state during the Chand rulers of Kumaon. The town was established in year 1988 as a part of conservation and defense of the lessening broad leaf oak jungles of the Himalayan region.



Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary: There are many areas you can visit in Binsar, though Sanctuary is the key spot for visitors. There is a museum built for flora and fauna in Binsar. It is the Wildlife Sanctuary known for numerous types of flora. Maximum part of sanctuary is covered with rhododendron trees and oak. If you really want to enjoy the Binsar wildlife then reach spot between March and April as you will get a chance to view rare flowers particularly ruby red rhododendron. Don’t forget it’s a jungle so you can view some mammals such as leopard, goral, musk deer, chital, Sumatran serow, , wild boar, jungle cat, black bear, red fox, pine marten, gray langur, red squirrel, rhesus macaque, and Muntjac.  You can also enjoy over 200 types of birds such as tits, nuthatches, forktail, blackbirds, laughingthrush, parakeets, magpies, monal, kalij pheasant, koklas, woodpeckers, eagles and Eurasian jays.

Attraction in Binsar:
Apart then sanctuary there are some best spots for visitors. We were not able to cover the complete place because of short of time. However, key destinations are mentioned in this short note so done miss these at least.



Binsar Mahadev: A shrine located in the forest approximately 20 km distance from Ranikhet and 70 km away from Almora. It is the temple of Lord Shiva and a big celebration is done in the month of June organised as local festival. Thousands of devotees reach Binsar Mahadev during this period. This Hindu holy place was named after the establishment of this temple.



Kasar Devi temple: Another best shrine known as Kasar Devi temple located at 9 km distance from Binsar town. It was the place housed Dutch monks among 1970 to 1980. People came to know about this place in 1920 when Sri Swami Vivekananda Ji came here and did meditation for many days.



Binsar Zero Point: Once you reach the sanctuary you must go to Zero Point from where you can view the beautiful Himalaya ranges. It is the highest vintage point of state allows you 360 degree view of Himalaya. Binsar is less popular so you will not find many travelers here. That means it is the peaceful and charming destination where you can relax for longer period.



Mary Budden Estate: A place with 8000 feet above sea level is the next spot to visit popular as private owned estate. The beauty of Budden estate will definitely change your mind and you will extend your holidays to spend more time in Binsar.



Not only mentioned spots, you can visit the nearby places that are amazing as well. You can plan for Chitai, Ranikhet, Kausani, Almora and many more. Kathgodam is also closer to Binsar so prepare a chart of places you want to visit once you reach Binsar.



Best time for Binsar: Visiting this amazing town is not a problem but if you want to enjoy the spot properly then summer will be best time for Binsar. October and November are other two best months for Binsar as the climate becomes so charming and greenery is spread everywhere.



How to reach Binsar?
By Air: Pantnagar Airport is closer to Binsar just 152 km away. Pantnagar is a domestic airport so international users have to reach nearby big airports and their they can get flight for Pantnagar.

By Rail: closest railway station for Binsar is Kathgodam at just 119 km distance. You will get train for Kathgodam from almost every big city of India.

By Road: Kumaon region of Uttanchal is properly connected big highway and it also connect the Binsar as well.

Binsar is all time favourite place so don’t think much and reach the spot to make your holidays memorable.
