A little town of Tamil Nadu situated in the Nilgiri Hills is our Indian tourist place. Lovedale is highest peak under Nilgiri, though city is popular tourism spot. Place is amazing, but because of less known to the world specially to Indian travelers it is not highly crowded. We can say that is again a best part for you as you will get peace and no rush to enjoy this destination. Queen of hills Ooty is closer to Lovedale located at only 5 km distance. Coonor is another spot at just 16 km so if you have plan to visit Lovedale be sure to have more leaves for best vacations. The entire region is full of natural spots and appreciated by tourists so plan your vacation with more days. It is the small town and the average population is nearly 1000-1500 people only. However, there are some boarding schools and students from all over the world are reaching for studies.


The Lawrence School is one of them serves town from long time. The small Post office and SBI Bank are available in town with regular services. Lawrence School, St. Antony's High School, and NMHS (Nilgiri Matriculation higher Secondary) school are few big education centers with residence services.


Climate: It is the hill station with subtropical climate. Rainy reason is special and town gets rain from two monsoons. April to December is monsoon period and dry season is between January to March. Average temperature is 4.2 °C so climate is chilled no matter which season you reach.

Spots to visit in town are limited, but still because of calm and beautiful nature it could be the memorable trip for you if you visit this unknown Indian tourist place.


Nilgiri Mountain Railway: Lovedale railway station itself is beautiful and connected through metro gauge railway of south India. Carry less luggage as you might face difficulty to have coolie at station.

Doddabetta Peak: As Lovedale is hill station and you will get many valleys and peak areas to view the town. Doddabetta is basically 3.9 km away from Lovedale, but it comes under Ooty region.


Some other key destinations of Lovedale are Rose Garden, Botanical Garden, lake, Ketti valley, thunder world, St. Stephen's church, Murgun temple and many more. However, these spots are registered under Ooty. Nearby big tourist place is Ooty and it is world famous also known as Queens of hill. Attain this Indian tourist place and take pleasure of beautiful India.


How to reach Lovedale?
By Rail: If you have heard about NMR the UNESCO World Heritage Site is reachable through Lovedale. Lovedale railway station is the last rail point to reach Ooty from another tourism spot Mettupalayam. Lovedale is the highest rail station on this complete route.

By Road: Lovedale is 5 km distant from Ooty and connected to some big cities by road. Private taxicab or state buses are available for Lovedale.
