The Indian Railways achieved another milestone by completing the arch of the Chenab Bridge. This is the world's highest railway bridge constructed after a lot of effort and difficulties.

Images itself state this 5.6-meter steel arch is the of great Indian achievements. It is a part of the Udhampur to Srinagar to Baramulla rail link project also known as USBRL. It is a good stretch of 111-km-long from Katra to Banihal in heaven Jammu and Kashmir.

The final piece of metal was tailored at the highest point on 5th April 2021. It is joining two arms of the arch that overextended towards each other from both banks of a Chenab river. The arch now emerges over the Chenab river that flows around 359 meters below.

It is the only link to connect Udhampur to Srinagar and Baramulla. If you have visited Udhampur you must be knowing the scenery and the beauty of this place. Now you get a chance to watch closely at nature from this bridge. It is a bit scary, but the bridge is very strong and built after a lot of inspections.

If you are planning to visit Katra for Vaishno Mata temple you can get the train from Baramulla or Srinagar and can reach Udhampur. From Udhampur you can get a private taxi or state bus to reach Katra that is 111 Km away.

As now we have railway line at this peak it becomes easy now for travelers to reach here. Plan your trip and enjoy the most scenic route to an amazing destination.
