Patna

Though Indian tourist places are world-famous but still many people are not aware about the destinations where they can spend their holidays. Patna is the oldest populated location having old history of around 3,000 years. Bihar state of India is full of rich culture and custom. Attraction in Patna:

Gandhi Maidan: situated at center part of Patna city is historic place close to Gange River. Previously the spot was identified as Patna Lawns. This ground is witness of historical movements occurred at the time of India’s freedom. People of Patna took part in all movements and public meetings conducted for freedom of India. 

Khuda Bakhsh Oriental Library: people who want to learn history of Patna can visit this library located near Ganga River. Foundation of library was done in 900 which make this spot the oldest library of India. Approximately 21000 oriental documents and 2.5 lac books are available in the spot. 

Patna Museum: situated close to central part of Patna city is another tourist spot. State museum was built by British rulers in 1917 to store all types of stuffs stored by rulers of Patna. It also recognized as Jadu Ghar. 

Quila House: best tourist spot of Patna is Quila house constructed in between limited portion of the River Ganga. This is a museum having huge antique collection of Mughal and various Empire ruling period. 

Few big spots where travelers can visit are Begu Hajjam's Mosque, Har Mandir Takht (Big Sikh gurudwara of Patna), Patthar-Ki-Masjid, St Luke's Church, St Stephen's Church and many more.

In ancient time the city was named as Patliputra ruled by Magadh and Maurya Emperors. The top archaeological sites of Patna are Kumhrar (having hypostyle eighty pillar hall), Didarganj Yakshi, Agam Kuan (profound well), Chausagarh (Chausa), Bulandibag, and Bhikhnapahari. 

Ganges River:  sitting at side of one of the biggest river Ganga could be diverse experience. At this spot voyagers can enjoy floating air-conditioned restaurant started by BSTDC (Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation). Later he moved to Anandpur for next development. Shree Guru Nanak Dev Ji visited the city in 1509 and Shree Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji came in 1666. Shri Harmandir Saheb is one of the 5 Takhts of Sikh group. Gurdwara Pahila Bara is also the big religious spot normally recognized as Gurdwara Ghai Ghat. Gurdwara Bal Leela, Gurdwara Guru ka Bagh, Gurdwara Handi Sahib are few big Gurudwaras of Patna.

Islamic pilgrimages: Pathar ki Masjid, Sher Shah mosque, Maner Sharif, Bihar Sharif, Phulwari Sharif, and Begu Hajjam's Masjid are few Islamic pilgrimages of Patna.  

Christian pilgrimages: Padari ki haveli, and Old Church are two major Christian Pilgrimage centers.

By Air: LNJA (Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Airport) of Patna is linked through domestic airlines of India. Flights from almost all key cities are reaching to Patna. Gaya Airport is next closest air hub situated at 96 km distance from Patna City. Gaya airport is international air hub serving flights from abroad to Bihar and Jharkhand states. Flights from Sri Lanka, Singapore, Bangkok and Bhutan are available in large amount.

By Rail: Patna railway station is linked with big cities as it is the major hub of ECR (East Central Railway). Train from Hyderabad, Delhi and many other metro cities are existing for Patna.

By Road: NH 30, NH 19, NH 83 and NH 31 are passing from Patna city which means by road is also easy to attain the city. State buses of Bihar are available to reach Patna, though timings are limited for the bus. Delhi is 1,015 kms away from Patna, Mumbai is 1,802 kms away, and Kolkata is 556 kms away.
