Ratlam - Holy City of Madhya Pradesh

Ratlam is a well-known city of Madhya Pradesh State, India. Today’s target for best Indian tourist place is Ratlam. It is a historical place like Ratnapuri located in north-west direction of Malwa district. The altitude of city is 1575 feet from the sea level. Mughal Ruler Shah Jahan gifted the city Ratlam to Ratan Singh Rathore. Shah Jahan was passionate to watch elephant fights. He invited Rajput fighters and kings throughout the country and requested them to participate in elephant fight. Ratan Singh was the rajput selected from his region to attend this competition. During the start of this festival one elephant went crazy and moved towards Shah Jahan. The big surprise for king was nobody came in front to save him except Ratan Singh. He swiftly mounted the crazy elephant and stabbed him to death. Shah Jahan was so impressed by Singh bravery and gifted the city Ratlam to him.

Places for tourist in Ratlam:
Jhar: First place to visit in this city is Jhar town located at only gap of 12 km. This town is popular for waterfall that is major attraction for tourist in this region. Jhar word comes from Jharna (waterfall) so its best place especially in rainy season. The waterfall gets heavy flow in rainy season so it’s best time to visit the place.

Cactus Garden: It is one of the special gardens of India located in premises of Sailana Palace. You have to cover the distance of 21 km from city Ratlam. The age of cactus garden is 50 years and Sailana Palace is another tourist attraction at such place.

Kedareshwar Temple: Ratlam is having countless holy places and Kedareshwar Temple is one of them. It is the Lord Shiva temple located in Sailana Village established at 4 km distance from central Ratlam. Special thing to watch in this temple is man-made cave that has been engraved out from the cliff of rocks.

Bilpakeshwara Temple: Next holy place is Bilpakeshwara Temple located 18 km far in south-west direction of Ratlam. Attain highway that connects Mhow city to Neemuch city as the temple lies on this highway. This Lord Siva temple is constructed in Pachayatana style.
