Nilambur - Hill Station of Kerala

We always discuss about the best tourist places of India. However, if we go through list of tourist attractions each spot is having unique feature and most of them are either natural beauty locations or manmade attraction places. Today another best Indian tourist place is discussed in this blog known as Nilambur that is a municipal and taluk of Malappuram region, Kerala. A well-known state of South India is having finest spots and Nilambur is one of them. The destination is closer to Nilgiris range and River Chaliyar is flowing from this area. The peak point of Nilambur is located at 40 Kms from City Malappuram. However, Manjeri (another tourist location) is located at 24 kms distance.



Attraction of Nilambur:
Hill station is always best spot because of natural beauty, though some key destinations of Nilambur are mentioned below:

Little Flower Church: A Roman Catholic cathedral of Nilambur is one of the best place to visit in city.


Conolly Plot: Popular for biggest teak is first attraction of Nilambur. 


Hanging Bridge: A bridge constructed over Chaliyar River is next place of destination.


Giant Teak: famous for old planted teak is another must visit spot of city. Here people can enjoy the Teak Museum administered by KFRI (Kerala Forest Research Institute).


Banglavu Kunnu: Also known as Bungalow Hill popular for winding road. Smell of Ayurvedic herbs is natural at this place.


Aruvacode Pottery Village: A town known as Kumbham is next location.


Adyan Para Waterfalls: located few Kms far from the River Chaliyar. Waterfall is only 14 km far from central Nilambur.


Koyippara Waterfalls: Enjoy another fall located closer to Kakkadampoyil town.


Nedumkayam: It is a reserve forest and safari is best thing to do here. Elephant camp is major attraction of Nedumkayam. Its 18 km distant from Nilambur City.



Attaining to Nilambur:
By Air: You can get the direct flights for Kumarakom/Calicut International Airport located at 45 km distance from destination. Domestic flights for Calicut are available from DelhiBangaloreChennai and some more big cities.

By Rail: A railway station at Nilambur is allowing voyagers to reach the spot easily. However, station is only 4 km far from peak Nilambur.

By Road: KSRTC (Kerala State Reserve Transport Corporation) is having buses for Nilambur. Major bus stand is located at Aruvacode and online reservation is possible for voyagers.

Majuli - Largest River Island of India
