Andaman & Nichobar Islands



Andaman and Nicobar Islands having an important place in Indian history as it is the island leaded by different foreign region and companies. British Survey was conducted on different islands of Andaman and Nicobar in 1777. However, it remained the home of the Mongoloids and Negritos correspondingly, who engaged the Islands for many years. People came into this place in beginning of 18th Century and that was the time when the islands of this place become known to the world. According to available sources the history of this place could be alienated into four periods known as
  1. British command- It was the period of overseas interruption and township.
  2. Japanese regime- for short period.
  3. Post-Independence period which was also for broad periods.
Presently the islands of Andaman and Nicobar are world-known and turned into the favourite place for vacations like spending time at amazing beaches and enjoying water sports at different locations. These islands are located at Bay of Bengal and their latitude is 6 degree to 14 degree north.

Talking about the tourist spots at this place, some best time spending areas are beaches, museum, port Blair, picnic spots, islands, Nicobar & Andaman’s greenery areas etc. Some monument areas are also available where tourist can spend wonderful time.

The known beaches are Radhnagar, Harminder, Karmatang and Ramnagar beach.     

The famous museums available at these islands are Fisheries, Samudrika, and Forest.

Cellular Jail is also the place to check the history behind the island. The island having jail is also known as Kala Pani Jail. Some other monuments are Ross Island and Viper Island. 

Chidiya Tapu and Mount Harriet are also some good picnic spots.  


The islands available for vacations are Jolly Buoy, Jolly Buoy, Red Skin Island, Havelock Island, Barren Island, Ross Island, Viper Island, and Chatham Island.   


Festival and cultural programs are also famous in the world and if you have planned to visit the islands of Andaman and Nicobar than you should get the schedule of different festivals. Some famous festivals are Island Tourism Festival, Subhash Mela, Vivekanada Mela, and Block Mela. 

 

Not only beaches and islands there are many other spots where tourist can spend their time. Katchal, Great Nicobar and Car Nicobar are also great places and tourist can hire the car or buses for various places.

 

Reaching to this place is possible with two different ways. By air and by cruise travellers can easily reach to available islands of Andaman and Nicobar.

A.      The only and first stop of airlines is at Port Blair.

B.      By sea, travellers can get the ship from Chennai and Vishakhapatnam.

 

However, there are lots of hotels and resorts available for accommodation. Visitors can avail lots of tourism packages offered by different companies. This will help them to save money and plan their trip.
