Khasi Hills: Where Your Umbrella Gets a Real Workout

Let’s be real: choosing a vacation spot in India is harder than picking a Netflix show on a Friday night. Google “best places to visit in India” and you’re hit with a tsunami of options. But if you’re looking for a destination that says, “I’m diverse, I’m moody, and I have better hair than you,” the Khasi Hills in Meghalaya are calling your name. Once upon a time, these hills were part of Assam, but they eventually decided to branch out and become the VIP section of Meghalaya. If you’ve ever wanted to live inside a National Geographic documentary, this subtropical jungle ecoregion is your chance to get uncomfortably close to nature (in a good way). 🌍 The Geography: More Than Just a Pretty Face The Khasi Hills are split into two main squads: West Khasi and East Khasi . If you’re looking to peak (literally), head to Lum Shyllong . It sits at a cool $1968\text{ meters}$ above sea level. It’s just a stone’s throw from Shillong, giving you those "top of the world" vibes wi...
