Adilabad - Andhra Pradesh

Adilabad is the small town of AP (Andhra Pradesh), the southern state of India. This less popular Indian tourist destination is just 294 kilometers away from Hyderabad. However, the spot is turning as favorite destinations for waterfall lovers. The nature beauty and spectacular scenery are exclusive in Adilabad. The famous waterfalls are drawing the attention of tourist, though Kuntala waterfall is the more popular comparing to 2nd waterfall Pochera as the Kuntala fall is the biggest waterfall of AP. Pochera falls are also good but tourist quantity is lesser than Kuntala. Pochera is the smaller waterfall and best place to take the bath in river. However, the panorama surrounding the falls is stunning.

The most known tourist spots of Adilabad are Sivaram Wildlife Sanctuary, Kuntala Waterfalls, Kawal Wildlife Sanctuary, Kadam Dam, Basar Saraswati Temple, Kala Ashram (Ravindra Sharma), Kadile Papahareshwar Temple, Sathnala Dam, Pochera Waterfalls, Jainath Temple, Kalwa Narsimha Swamy Temple, Gudem Satyanarayana Swamy temple and Sirichelime Temple.

Sivaram Wildlife Sanctuary: this wildlife is spread in 29.81 Square Km area. River in the forest and wild animals are finest things to watch in this national park. Travelers have to cross 50 kms distance from the station to reach wildlife. Best time to visit Sivaram Park is from November to April.



Kuntala Waterfalls: this biggest waterfall of AP is another tourist spot having dense forest. Sahayadri peaks are present with countless large and small waterfalls. Visitors have to travel for 32Kms to reach the waterfall which is situated in the village NerediKonda. As per historical records, the place was named after Shakuntala (the wife of Ruler Dushyanth) met the king and fell in love.
Kawal Wildlife Sanctuary: Area of the park is 893 Square Kms, and special thing is teak forest and diverse types of deer’s. The Bamboo, Pterocarpus, Terminalia, Anogeisus and Cassias are few unique trees and plants available in this forest. Wild animals like Tiger, Gaur, Panther, Cheetal, Nilgai, Sambar, Deer, Mouse Deer, Chowsingha, Sloth Bear, etc. Distance of sanctuary is only 50 kms from the station. Season period is from November to May.

Kadam Dam: dam created on river Kaddam is 35.70 meters in height. Dam was completed in 1964 with some parks near the dam. The greenery near the dam is stunning.
Basar Saraswati Temple: the oldest temple of India is situated in Adilabad. This Saraswati shrine is first worship place for local people.

Kala Ashram (Ravindra Sharma): Kala Ashram is stepped towards the novel period in protection of the very old and existence lifestyle.
Kadile Papahareshwar Temple: temple of Lord Papahareshwara Swami is must-visit spot of Adilabad. This 6 kms away spot is situated close to Nirmal's town.

Other spots like Sathnala Dam, Pochera Waterfalls and many temples are accessible for visitors to make their trip more interesting.
Attaining to Adilabad is possible through road and railway station though the Nagpur is the biggest rail head to reach this Adilabad. The total distance between Adilabad and Nagpur is 195 kms. Next big hope to reach Adilabad (the secret Indian tourist place) is Hyderabad, which are just 294 kms away. Trains from various parts of the country are passing through Hyderabad so a tourist can attain to HYD to reach their destination. Other big stations are Indore (599 km) Pune (644 km) and Bangalore (869 km) providing regular trains at different intervals.
