Kozhikode



Indian tourist place Kozhikode is also known as Calicut. The other name of the city is Kumarakom, though mostly people recognized the place with Calicut name. Kozhikode is the Malabar shore of Kerala. Earlier the town was used for trading in southern India. Sea route to Kozhikode from Eruope nations was discovered by famous explorer Vasco Da Gama. He was the first captain who discovered the direct route from European country to India. In world history he found the Calicut city of India and suggested other countries to link India through same way. The Kozhikode town was regarded newest city on earth.

Elathur: the village Elathur is surrounded by Arabian Sea in west direction and river Korapuzha in north direction. The distance of Elathur town is 10 kms from Kozhikode City. By Air: The KIA (Karipur International Airport) or CIA (Calicut International airport) is only 23 kms away from Kozhikode city. Domestic flights are also available frequently to reach Calicut. Flights from Karipur airport are linked to mostly big cities of India and other nations.

Vaishno Devi
