Divine Experience at Aahana: The Corbett Wilderness

Uttarakhand undoubtedly is the most beautiful and most favorite holiday destinations in the Northern part of India. Situated at the Himalayan foothills, Uttarakhand is famous for its scenic beauty and serenity.

Being the most popular and frequently visited hill station, Uttarakhand has many resorts offering a relaxing and pleasant stay.

I recently got lucky to visit Ahaana: The Corbett Wilderness Resort in the Corbett Park. Situated around seven kilometers from Ramnagar in the district Nainital, Aahana is an eco- friendly luxurious resort with all its wilderness. Kept in its natural form, this resort will give you the actual feel of nature and its tranquility. Rated as the best resort in Jim Corbett national park, Aaahana is par excellence when it comes about its picturesque beauty, maintenance, tranquility and above all the services.

Picturesque Beauty of Aaahana Resort

Spread in 14 acres of Corbett Park, Aahana has won the award of 8th Best Resort in India. Surrounded with lush green trees and plants, this place is just perfect to connect with the nature. It is an ideal place to get familiar to the several species of plant life because Aahana has their own organic garden which encompasses a great variety of plants and herbs. The whispering ambiance of this resort makes it a heaven for the nature lovers.

Going on a vacation at Aahana resort will get you a tranquil experience along with the supply for typical Kumauni food and facilities like swimming pool, spa, gym, free wi-fi, kids play area, badminton court and one of its kind- the special Aahana naturopathy Centre.
Rooms at Aahana Resort

Aahana Resort has 48 villa style luxurious rooms artistically designed with a Victorian taste. The category of rooms include-

· Corbett Club
· Jungle Lore
· Jim's Retreat
· Ranger Suite
· Aahana Family Suite
· The Villa

I was in the Corbett Club room and it was a very lavishly designed luxurious room which had a balcony with the garden view. I was there for two days and waking up with the chirping of birds and whispering winds was something which gave me a real high.

Yoga Sessions at Aahana Resort

*Our first morning at Aahana started with the Yoga sessions given and trust me doing Yoga was never ever that relaxing and rejuvenating. We did the half hour yoga session at the lush green garden of Aahana surrounded by the pool at one side and lovely huts on the other. After the yoga sessions we went for a wonderful cycle ride to the village nearby and met some local people which again was an enchanting experience.

Food at Aahana Resort

While talking of the exquisite resort and its services, one can never miss the scrumptious meals which included the typical Kumauni food. The resort serves you the best meals prepared with all their organic vegetables and herbs grown in their own organic garden. You can feel the freshness in the taste and fragrance of each food item. So, if you are a foodie who enjoy being in nature, Aahana is so right for you.

Aahana Naturopathy Center

This is something which makes Aahana different from other resorts in the region. The one of its kind, special Aahana naturopathy. Run by expert doctors, this center provides various types of spa and massage therapies which include some medical treatments and beauty therapies too. In short, it brings a complete health package which includes Ayurveda, Yoga, Detox and Relaxing Massage Therapies.

The wellness package includes-
· Aahana Signature massages
· Therapies
· Various face and body packs
· Underwater massages
· Yogic Kriya
· Yoga Baths

I got the Aahana Signature Massage with the fruit facial and it was just amazingly rejuvenating and relaxing. It was around one hour massage followed by the 45 minutes real fruits facial, steam bath and shower. The Spa rooms at Aahana are very well designed and decorated and you will feel that awesome Ayurveda fragrance all around the spa area.

Another attraction of Aaahana resort was the daily bonfire aside the pool with some very good local singers and guitarists. So, you can enjoy your drinks sitting around the bonfire at the pool area with some melodious music.

Traveling in and around Uttarakhand has always been a stimulating experience for me and this trip to Aahana: The Corbett Wilderness was certainly the cherry on the cake. The untouched wilderness, exquisite luxury, and the serenity was something which will take me there back again in near future. I am already missing the place.
