Satara is the town of Maharashtra administered under Satara region. This Indian tourist place is 2320 feet above from the sea-level. Satara is the meeting point of two big rivers of India such as Krishna and Venna. Foundation of city was done in 16th century, though it was declared capital during the ruling period of Maratha’s. Bhonsle Chhatrapati was the ruler who declared this city as capital. It is kind of historical places, but the spots are beautiful and going to take your breath away. The name of city itself states the value of this place. Satara means Seven Stars, though the stars means hills so this place is famous for seven different hills. Kandi pedha is the sweet item famous in Satara.

Karad: Once you reach Satara you must attain to Karad the historical spot.  Karad is only 50 km far from Satara. This prominent territory was ruled by rulers of Mauryas, Bahmanis, Chalukyas, Rashtrakuta, Peshwas, Maratha, Satavahanas, British and Mughals. Some big monuments are still accessible in this area to teach history of town. 


Panchgani: One more spot known as Panchgani is serving voyagers as best destination. This hill station is located closer to Krishna Valley and distance is just 49 km from Satara. Panchgani is not a new name for voyagers, though there are many secret spots in this location. Aundh: If you go through list of attractions in Satara then you will find Aundh in 3rd or 4th place. Aundh is positioned at 30 km distance from the city. Shri Bhavani Museum and Yamai Devi Temple are two major attraction places of Aundh. You have to reach on top of hill to attain Yamai Devi. 


Wai: one of the best spots of Satara is Wai pilgrim place located close to River Krishna with only distance of 35 kms. Wai is also known as Deccan Kashi famous for temples and 7 Ghats. 


Koyna Wildlife Sanctuary: almost every hill station of India is having own wildlife sanctuary and Koyna Wildlife Sanctuary is one of them. This natural beauty spot is only 70 km far from city Satara. Koyna Wildlife Sanctuary is spread in 420 square km area. 


Ganapati Temple: A temple of Lord Ganesh is special spot for voyagers. This temple is also recognized as Khinditil or Kuraneshwar Ganapati Temple. Travel for 1.5 km distance only to reach temple from Satara City.

Attaining to Satara:
Travelers can reach Pune (The biggest closer city for Satara) that is only 107 km far from destination. However, people coming from Mumbai have to travel for 256 km, Bangalore  734 km, Ahmadabad 789 km and Mangalore 865 km. 

Satara city is connected to many major cities of India. Road and train is best transport mode to reach this destination. However, air is also the better option for Satara. 


By Train: Satara railway station is active and countless trains are running from the neighboring state Karnataka.
