The holiday destination Kolad is our next target. This Indian tourist place is flourishing small town of Mahad region, Maharashtra. The nature created flora and lavish greenery is top feature of Kolad. Kolad’s valleys make the spot picturesque location.

Countless waterfalls and Rocky Mountains with green valleys are able to make holidays special. Kolad is having numerous waterfalls and hill points where travelers can easily spend their vacations. The key spot of Kolad is Kundalika River known as top flowing river of South India. The dam created on river in nearby place increases the flow to river.

White river rafting event is conducted on this river and voyagers can also participate in this show. The distance of rafting is covered under 14-kilometres area so travelers can easily enjoy the best game with ample of time. However, soft hearted people are not allowed for rafting as some points are quite dangerous with extreme turns and stones. During monsoon river becomes heavily dangerous and rafting in such period could be difficult challenge.

Kayaking, river crossing and paragliding are other sports event that people can attend. Boating is also conducted by the travel department and people love watching nature can enjoy the boating feature at Kolad.

Attraction in Kolad:
Bhira Dam: first place to visit among all is Bhira Dam also known as Tata Powerhouse Block. Located in small but beautiful town with huge amount of water level is listed on top place. Construction of dam was done on 1927 by the big Indian group Tata.

Dholwal Dam: another location is Dholwal Dam which is the high power Dam for power supply to surrounding districts.

Ghosala Fort: Kolad is admired for architectural brilliance showed in construction of Ghosala fort which is located among the Salav and Revdanda creeks. Fort is constructed on Roha Hills of Kolad and can be reached from north side with no more difficulty.

Kuda Caves: Kuda is another small town having admired Buddhist caves. Constructed over the striking Janjeera hills close to Kolad is next tourist destination. The tallness of caves is 150 feet to 200 feet from the sea level.

Tala Fort: next listed place is Tala fort constructed on the south side of Malti creek. Height of Tala fort is 1000 feet from sea level.

Sutarwadi Lake: nature loving people can visit the place located on backdrop of royal Sahyadris. The striking Sutarwadi Lake is popular for bird watching. Sunset and sunrise are two moments which are really special and in both condition the lake becomes magnificent.

Tamhini Falls: next is waterfall known as Tamhini falls also recognized as Valse. This attractive spot is close to Kolad having countless waterfalls with high hilly rocky mounts. The peace, calm and breathtaking views of Tamhini falls makes it special destination for vacations.

Gaimukh: religious people can attain to Gaimukh (means “mouth of cow”) which is the tiny town in Bhandra region, Maharashtra. Shrine of mentioned place is devoted to God Shiva. Attaining to Gaimukh during Maha Sivarathri could be dissimilar experience for voyagers.

Rafting: next attraction of Kolad is rafting that people can do in Kundalika river. The rafting distance is 14 kms longer and covered with full of adventurous paths. In monsoon river turn into more challenging and dangerous as the flow of water comes with high pressure.

Mumbai is only 113 kms away from Kolad whereas Pune city is 122 kms, Hyderabad city is 683 kms, Bangalore is 919 kms, and Nagpur is 924 kms.

By Air: closest air hub to attain Kolad is CSIA (Chatrapati Shivaji International Airport) of Mumbai located at only distance of 113 kms. Mumbai airport is having direct flights from abroad and local cities so flight is best method to attain Kolad the best destination.

By Train: local railway station of Kolad is connected to Central Mumbai, though many big cities are having link and direct trains for Kolad. Trains for Kolad from Dadar, Diva, Ratnagiri, Sawantwadi, Roha, Bhavnagar, Kochuveli, Lokmanyatilak T, Trivandrum, and Mangaon are available.

By Bus: state transport of Maharashtra is having buses for Kolad town as well. Private and chartered buses are also accessible from Mumbai and many nearby big cities of India.
