Few very well-known destinations for tourism in Assam are Guwahati, Shillong, Kaziranga, Tezpur, Bhalukpong, Nameri National Park, Bomdila, Tawang (Arunachal Pradesh), Sibsagar, Jorhat, Majuli, Hajo, Barpeta, Manas, cruise or steam on River Brahmaputra, Jatinga Steam Safari and some hill areas within the state.

As per sources, tourist must reach Guwahati from where they can attain to diverse places of Assam without many difficulties as the public or private transport is available at Guwahati. Assam museum is just 10-minute distance from the Guwahati railway station so tourist can reach the spot to learn about the culture and social growth of the city through the museum. Chandubi Lake at Guwahati is covered with natural beauties, though it is 64 kms away from the city.

Tea gardens at Digboi allow visitors to learn about the production of diverse types of teas. Haflong is close station to Digboi, which is the hill station of the state. The next hill station of Assam is Bamuni Hill located in Tezpur city. Enjoying hot spring at Bhalukpung itself is special spot for a tourist.

Majuli - Largest River Island of India

A small island of Assam known as Majuli is our next Indian tourist place. The other name of this island town is Majoli popular as one of the largest river islands of India. Vaishno Devi

Temple is the world-famous holy place for Hindus. This temple is devoted to Maa Shakti, situated in the mounts of Jammu and Kashmir . Vaishno Devi Mata is also recognized as Mata Rani and Vaishnavi.
