Kurnool



A big region Kurnool of Andhra Pradesh is our next tourist destination. This Indian tourist place is the well-known city of AP in southern India. Kurnool is just 212 kms away from Hyderabad the state capital. Placed on 7th position in most crowded this city is the entry point to Rayalseema. In early days of freedom of India Kurnool city was declared as capital of AP. On 1 October 1953, City was declared as Capital of Andhra, though it didn’t be for longer as Hyderabad was later declared the capital on 31st October, 1956.

Behind the name of Kurnool, lots of theories are available, though discussing particular will be not of interesting for the voyagers hence we are not stating the talks to our viewers.

Attraction of Kurnool:
Birla Mandir: A beauty holy place is first location for voyagers. It’s Naubath Pahad where the temple is created. Lord Venkateshwara idol is placed in the shrine and construction is done with white marble.

Mahanandi: Kurnool region is bigger and countless small villages are under this district. Mahanandi Village is one of them located in the east direction of Nallamala Hills. Here travelers can watch nine Nandis known as Navanandis. Temple Mahanandiswara is key spot for voyagers in Mahanandi village. The shrine is belonging to the ruling period of Chalukyan in south India.

Srisailam Dam: as discussed Kurnool region is having plenty of villages under, there are loads of tourist destinations, and Srisailam is one of them. The dam constructed in Srisailam village is most popular for natural beauty and tiger reserve. Some restrictions placed by AP government could be little challenge for voyagers. The tiger reserve of Srisailam did not allow visitors to enter the jungle area after 9 pm until 8 am every day. Srisailam is the peaceful spot and popular for Lord Shankara temple constructed close to Dam area. Dam of Srisailam is constructed on hard flowing big river Krishna. AP government started constructing dam in 1960 and completed on 1981. Srisailam dam is listed in 12 biggest hydroelectric projects of India.

Belum Caves: today almost every person might hear the Belum Caves, though people are not aware of the location. Belum Village of Kurnool region is famous for caves, which are 2nd largest caverns in India. There are three cavities in caves and central cavity is serving as entry point to caves.

Nallamala Hills: mount area of Kurnool region is Nallamala Hills also recognized as Nallamalla Range. These hills are spread to other known cities such as Guntur, Kurnool, Kadapa, Prakasam and Mahabubnagar.

Sai baba Temple: the biggest Sai baba shrine in India is under Kurnool region spread in approx 1.5 acre. The striking idol of Sai Baba was placed in temple in 2001.

Many other areas where travelers can reach are Rollapadu Bird Sanctuary, BRMS (Bhrama Ramba Mallikarjuna Swamy) Temple, GBWS (Gundla Brahmeswaram Wildlife Sanctuary), Nagarjuna Sagar Sanctuary, Kondareddy Burz, Peta Anjaneyaswami Temple, and Yaganti Shiva Temple.

Attaining to Kurnool:
Buses for Kurnool city are available frequently from Guntur and Vijayawada.  However, many other big cities are also having direct buses and trains to Kurnool. Hyderabad is 215 kms away, Bangalore is 353 kms away, Chennai is 459 kms, Pune is 643 kms, and Nagpur is 812 kms away from Kurnool.

By Rail: Kurnool railway station is linked to many big cities of India, though frequent trains are available from Hyderabad city. Trains from MumbaiTirupatiMaduraiJaipur, Hubli, ChennaiHyderabad,  Bangalore and few other cities are reaching Kurnool, hence tourist can plan trip according to their convenient. Kurnool viz, Nandyala Junction, Kurnool Town Junction, Dhone Junction and Adoni Junction are four popular railway stations of Kurnool. Plenty of trains are reaching Kurnool from various parts of the country.

By Road: Buses from Guntur, VijayawadaHyderabad, BangaloreChennai and many other cities are available for Kurnool.

By Air: International airport of Hyderabad is closer to reach Kurnool. Voyagers can hire the taxi from outer area of Hyderabad Airport, which will take around 3 to 4 hours time to attain Kurnool.
