Gujarat is world-famous state of India serving various tourist places of India to global tourists. The land area of Gujarat is 196,030 kms and its coastline is 1,600 km. British East India Company established factory in 1614 in Surat. It was the first base of British company in India. Though Surat faced lots of troubles from 1614 to 1679 as British Empire ruled badly in Surat and Portugal’s entered in Bombay and Surat in 1668. The Hindu King Chatrapati Shivaji attacked Surat from 1664 to 1679. He looted the city three times during this period and got countless money from the city. This was the entry of Marathas in Gujarat which was continued on regular periods. In 18th century Gujarat was completely ruled by Marathas which changed the politics of the state from other regions of India.
