Lakshadweep lies approximately 200 to 400 kilometers off the coast of Kerala. The islands are formed primarily from ancient coral atolls, which contribute to their unique and fragile marine ecosystem.

1. Agatti Island: The Gateway Agatti is the primary access point to Lakshadweep, home to the territory's airport. It is renowned for its coral-rich, expansive lagoon. The island's beaches are perfect for long, scenic walks, and it offers water activities like kayaking and glass-bottom boat rides.

2. Kavaratti Island: The Capital Kavaratti is the administrative capital of Lakshadweep. It is celebrated for its clear lagoons and excellent water sports. A key attraction is the Ujra Mosque, famous for its beautiful wood carvings, and the dedicated Aquarium near the beach.

3. Bangaram Island This island is a popular destination for tourists seeking tranquility. Bangaram is famous for its breathtaking coral reefs and crystal-clear waters, making it an ideal spot for snorkeling, scuba diving, and deep-sea fishing.


4. Minicoy Island The southernmost island, Minicoy, is distinct for its crescent-shaped coral reef and unique culture.

  • Minicoy Lighthouse: Built during the British era (1885), the lighthouse offers breathtaking panoramic views of the island and the Arabian Sea.

  • Tuna Canning Factory: A unique point of interest for visitors to learn about the local economy.

5. Kalpeni Island Kalpeni is known for its incredible scenic beauty and vibrant coral reefs. The island includes three uninhabited satellite islets: Tilakkam, Pitti, and Cheriyam. Visitors can enjoy activities such as snorkeling and reef walking in the Kalpeni lagoon.

6. Pitti Bird Sanctuary Located on the uninhabited Pitti islet, this is an important site for nesting tern species and is home to a variety of migratory birds, making it an excellent spot for bird watching.

7. Kadmat Island Known for its long, unspoiled sandy beaches, Kadmat Island is a tranquil destination that offers abundant opportunities for water sports and coral exploration.

Best Time to Visit: The ideal time to visit Lakshadweep is from October to March when the weather is pleasant and the sea is calm.
