If you are coming from Chandigarh towards Chakrata then you have to cover the distance of 189 kms. However, Delhi is 290 km away, Shimla is 304 kms away, Nagpur is 1397 kms far and Mumbai is 1712 kms distant from the Chakrata.  

By Train: closest big railway station to reach Chakrata is Dehradun connected to almost every major city of India. You have to travel for 92 kms distance from Dehradun to reach Chakrata. Private taxies are available from Dehradun station and outer areas for Chakrata, though the average cost for taxi will be Rs 1,500. Train for Dehradun is available from ChennaiDelhi and many other cities.

By Air: closest airfield for Chakrata is Jolly Grant Airport located at 92 kms distance. Flights for Jolly airport is available from DelhiBangaloreChennai and some more cities. Delhi is the easiest way for foreign visitors for Chakrata.

By Bus: state buses are available for Chakrata from Dehradun, Kalsi and Ponta Sahib. They charge around Rs 200 to 300 for Chakrata depot.
